NESC Academy classroom courses are taught in university settings, generally near the NASA center where the instructor is based. Each course lasts for three full days and might include tour(s) of local points of interest that pertain to the topic, such as a museum or research laboratory. Some courses that are being presented for a second time might be condensed to two days instead of the original three.

Proof of U.S. citizenship is required in order to take any of the courses offered through the Academy, either online or in a classroom.
